Themes

Wed, 14 May 2008 17:10:48 PDT
These are some themes I’ve been tracking the last several weeks. The gist of it is that there is probably a concerted strategic communications campaign coming out of the government about the progress in Afghanistan, RC-East in particular, and this is being abetted by gullible journalists and analysts. Alongside this theme is a growing record of absolutely shoddy scholarship and reporting on the area, in particular over matters relating to the Pashtuns. I thought it might be useful to collect th

MUST READ: Right Blog and Radio Brilliance

Sun, 04 May 2008 08:52:14 PDT
This it too good to not take the time to read and follow. CBC staff should all read it since it involves at least a couple of “expert” correspondents at Huffington Post —which as I’ve pointed out is a far-left web site that state-owned CBC Newsworld likes to source for their guest analysts and “experts” on politics. Wed, 14 May 2008 17:33:02 PDT
When I read about the recent arrest of the infamous “Soulja Girl” (synopsis: she harassed an old lady on Atlanta’s metro train system, and the video got viral. for more info, watch here), I applauded. No really, I applauded all by myself in front of my computer. This was a situation that shows, really, the degradation of our youth. That huge sense of entitlement and unharnessed lawlessness really gets on my nerves with these kids. Whether it’s at the movie theatre or my schools, many of our y
